Contest: Win A Copy of Slow Ride!

January 13, 2014 by Kat Morrisey

It’s Slow Ride’s book birthday! WAHOOOOOO!

Can you tell I’m excited? I’m also super nervous. But, that goes with the territory.

Slow Ride is a contemporary romance set in the small fictional town of Ashten Falls, Maine. The hero of the book is Cooper, a hot, super sexy protective guy who runs a couple businesses, including his beloved garage. Yep, he’s a mechanic and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. *wink*

This book is the first in what I hope will be a series, each book focusing on different characters which can be read as stand alones. (No cliffys here!) In fact, book 2 will focus Sam and how a certain heroine, Emme, turns everything in his ordered life upside down. The heroes and heroines of these books are everyday, average folks, just trying to get by and enjoy the life they have, and the people they care about, of course. Many of the heroes have their own businesses, like Cooper and Sam, and I hope I do them each justice in showing the pride they have for the work they do. Small businesses are the heart and soul of so many towns and cities in this country, including the one I’m from. And this is definitely the case in the fictional town my characters live in. Other heroes of this series though skate the line of what is legal and illegal, always one step ahead of the law. Sometimes. (That’s Will, you’ll meet him in a later book).

So, now that you know a little about Ashten Falls, I wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who supports me and my writing. To do that, I wanted to do a giveaway. I have 2 copies of my book up for grabs, in either epub or mobi formats. The rules are easy peasy–just leave a comment, answering the following question: What kind of blue collar hero or heroine gets you all hot and bothered?

For me, it’s the guys at my local garage. Yep, the one I take my car to for an oil change and the one where I first got the idea that the hero of Slow Ride would be a mechanic. The guys there are wicked hot.  And there might be times that I may even be drooling as a certain guy is working under my hood. (Of the car, I mean. Get your minds out of the gutter! Okay, never mind, leave them there. *grins*)

What about you? Is it your mechanic? The chef at the local diner? Maybe the guy who owns the electronics store down the street? Or is the electrician? So many possibilities!

Enter the contest via the widget below and by leaving a comment. The contest will be open until Wednesday at 8am. Then I’ll pick a winner from those who commented. Please sure to leave your format choice in your comment or I won’t be able to contact you. Thanks everyone and good luck!

Oh, nice! Roger, one of the guys who is best friends with Cooper, is a contractor. He has a pretty tragic past (which you get a glimpse of in this book), but eventually, maybe, he’ll find his girl. :)

Congrats on the book Kat! I’m not sure if I’ve every read a book set in Maine and it sounds like a great place to be. epub if the randomizer gods like me.

I have to go with mechanics. Or the Russian guy who delivers Chinese food to my house :)
    Good luck with your book!

    • Kat says:

Yeah, there is just something about a man who can fix a car. It’s totally hot, to me. :D And a Russian delivery guy. Now that could be an interesting hero…hmmm, my creative juices are flowing as we speak. lol

      • Kari says:

Agreed, there is something about a guy who can fix a car, makes me think he’s good with his hands too. Cooper sounds pretty cool ;). I forgot to write mobi before so I’ll post it here now. Thank you!

Firefighters make me swoon. And a chef who can present me with an amuse bouche is tops for me as well :)

    • Kat says:

Both good choices! The heroine in book 3 is a chef. She appears in book 1 actually, but isn’t working as a chef. And firefighters…*sighs*
